Dear John,

We were terrified to build a house.  We had heard every horror story imaginable!  When we decided to take the plunge, we interviewed five builders.  We just want you to know that we thank God every day that we chose you!  As a matter of fact, we would do it again in a minute, as long as you were our builder!  Lacey will never forget the day she decided you were the builder she wanted.  She said that you looked right at her and said, “I’d really like to have this job.  I’m not afraid to work hard or get dirty.  I’ll be right there the entire time your house is being built and I’ll stay on top of things.”  You certainly kept your word to her and to us.

One of the reasons we chose you was your expertise in foundations.  Building on the lake, with water right at the edge of the property, we felt the foundation was the most important aspect of our home.  After interviewing the other four builders, we really appreciated your expertise and knowledge in this area.  We know that we have a solid home because of you.

Your suggestions throughout the entire building process were always insightful and (we laugh as we write this) they were also correct!  You are definitely a master of your craft!

Your constant on-site supervision really made a difference in all of the details.   Whenever we did hit a snag, you helped us to stay calm and you took care of it.  Most of our friends who had previously built were still arguing about their knock-out list with their builder even a year after they had moved in.  You took care of our small list within weeks.  That REALLY enhanced the experience!

Thank you for being so conscientious and ethical!  We never had to worry once about the quality of our home, and while we realize that you need to make a profit, you were always conscientious of our budget and our money.  You kept fantastic records and accounted for our every penny.

We have been living in our home now for six months.  In that time, and in the entire time you took to build our home, we have never regretted our decision!  We have come to regard you, John, as more than our builder – you are our friend.  Thank you so much for helping to make our dreams come true!
